The Amelia Apocalypse
I’m drawing a comic (mostly) written by my daughter, called The Amelia Apocalypse!
It’s been an ongoing project. Something I would work on every Monday while working on paying projects the rest of the week. Then it switched to every Sunday & Monday, now it’s every day.
It all started on the way home from school when my daughter was telling me a random story about a little girl that killed all the zombies. I thought it was fun and she told me I should turn it into a comic. How can you say no to your sweet girl asking you to draw her a comic?
So I told her I would, as long as she wrote it. And she did. Most of it. I ended up having to add some dialogue to scenes to make sure they worked. But every week she’d come to me with a couple of new pages for the story, and I would do layouts for them, then work on it every Monday. Things were going slow, but they were getting done. It would take me two days to draw, color and letter the pages, and since I only worked on it every Monday, that was two weeks per page. That just wasn’t cutting it, so I moved the schedule to every Sunday and Monday. This would let me get a page done every week.
Until I got too much work. That was a good thing, but The Amelia Apocalypse took a back seat for a little while. But when work died down, I started thinking about my next project and came up with a couple good ones! (More on those next month?)But The Amelia Apocalypse was sitting there, waiting to be finished. I was halfway through it. So I decided to just dedicate a couple months to finishing the whole thing. I asked my daughter for the final scene, she wrote it down, and I got back to work drawing.
It’s about 8 pages away from being completed, and I couldn’t be happier with the way things are going. I wanted to take a moment to spread some much needed love to my very neglected newsletter and share the cover, with a few random pages.
Hope you enjoy!

I love this!!! Can't wait for more!~
Awesome! I've always said Walmart is the place to hunker down in a zombie apocalypse. They have everything you need in one spot. Cant wait to read more.
