Happy New Year!
2025-2026
It’s a brand new year full of possibilities. So let’s take a look back, and forward to see what was done, and what can be done.
For 2025, my goals were:
-2 books out
-Build a website
I didn’t accomplish either goal.
I got one book out in 2025 (Jaeger Bomb) and started but stopped several other projects, unable to make up my mind on what I wanted to do. Amelia Apocalypse came close to being done and put out, but I fell 6 pages short on that goal. I’m back to working on it, and hope to have it ready by February for digital purchase. There will be a small print run just for my daughter, probably 50 books or so, so she can give them to her friends.
I also STARTED working on a website early last year, using WIX, but it fell to the wayside when I realized I couldn’t afford to maintain it. It was going to be a shop/portfolio style site, but because there wasn’t a lot of work coming my way last year, the budget was tight and it had to take a back seat.
I’m not bitter or sad about it, it’s just the reality of business.
So, for 2026 my goals are:
-Crowdfund at least one book.
-Write two new projects.
-Level up my coloring skill set.
-Read & study more dope comics.
-Get bariatric surgery.
I’m working on my next book at the moment, called REX RAYGUN AAND THE TYRANT OF TITAN. It’s written and I’m currently editing it here and there before I work on drawing the final Amelia Apocalypse pages. It’s a pulpy sci-fi space opera and it’ll e a really fun comic the delves into loss. The cover for it is below. I don’t know when it will get crowdfunded, but I’m hoping for around June. The reason I don’t know when it will be crowdfunded is because I have two paying projects waiting in the wings that I might have to jump into at any given week. CASH GRAB 2, currently being written by Cecil, the writer of CASH GRAB, and an unannounced book that’s waiting to be written.
Writing two projects is a bit ambitious, since writing is crazy hard, but I’d like to write a sequel to Rex Raygun, and a different idea that’s been floating around in my head.
I’ve been practicing my own coloring a lot more recently, and studying coloring in comics along with studying the art to help myself improve. I’d likke to be better by the end of 2026.
And yup, I’ll be getting bariatric surgery this year. A gastric bypass to lose weight. I’m currently 430lbs and dieting and exercise aren’t cutting it, so I’m getting the same surgery done my wife had last year. She’s lost 100lbs so far and I couldn’t be more proud of her. I need to get healthy for my family, and myself. I want to see my kids graduate high school.
It’ll be a big year for me, but I’m determined to make these goals happen.
So, what are your goals for this year? Let me know!
May your 2026 be better than your 2025 in all aspects!
